My Makassar

Formerly Makassar known as UjungPandang, but since 2000 UjungPandang chenged become Makassar, where this name known and added in negarakertagama poems, prapanca's arrangement. Beside that formerly Makassar as a big trader centre and a big anchorage in east Indonesia, so is that why Makassar become the south celebes capitol that located front of makassar straits.

Makassar city is a cosmopolis city, because there are so many kinds of ethnic, bugis, button, batak, jawa, and almost tionghoa and etc. However the day life go on with peace and undrestanding to another, because they are become makassar peoples.


As a city that contiguous with makassar straits, Makassar have a lot of tourism place, like losari beach that located in west Makassar side, this beach is most beautiful place to enjoy the sunset in the evening, formerly losari beach added in record book or guinnes book's as longest seafood centre or longest dinning table in the world. Beside losari beach Fort Rotterdam is also the most tourism place where we can find so many foreign tourist and local tourist, on this place there are a museum where we can find very much relic from the ancient time, and then on the top this fortres we can enjoy the beautiful view of losari beach.

Ospek " yes or no"

Nowadays the students of hasanuddin university always talk about the bureucrate decision. bureucrate side say that OSPEK become PPMB or the Acceptance of new student procession, where on this procession the student involvement is very less, it's very different with OSPEK. This change make the college situation very controversial.
The acceptance of new student procession has a long histories, and has took many victim, beside that this procession has changed for more time, beginning with POSMA, MAPRAM, OSPEK and etc. But The ironic is so many students didn't know what the essential thing of this procession. For a long time the essential thing of this procession was broken by the student to, why, cos in fact we can see so many bad things on this procession than the positive thing, like violence, insulting for the new student and etc. We can say that this procession like a military excercise. They named this procession is procession of college identification but only name, they didn't know what the essensial thing of this procession, they make it like an violence and insulting area, and it make this procession has a bad name at peoples outside the college.
So it is the reason why the bureucrate make the decitions that OSPEK must be change become PPMB where the activators isfrom bureucrate side. Beside that so many peoples argue that OSPEK must be erased for the new student, and I dont agree about that.
Ospek like a murder knife who have murder someone, the knife is only a tool to do slaying or murder, so the knife must be ignore, even the knife didn't have aim to murder, it is only a tool, so it like ospek only a tool to do violence, insulting and etc. not ospek must be ignore or erase but the content of this procession must be erase. So with it we can held this procession aproriate with the essential thing of this procession, no problem if bureucrat change the name, but the activators is the student.......................................
